Picture of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi

Today, everyone was surprised, including myself, when Mr. Rahul Gandhi filed the papers from Rai Bareilly, though everyone was expecting him to contest the election from

Amethi, where he lost the last election to Mrs. Smriti Irani. Everyone was expecting Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Rai Bareilly, a seat vacated by her mother. Mr. K.L. Sharma fighting from Amethi against Mrs. Smriti Irani is very surprising. Let's examine this using the chart of Congress I. The chart of Congress I is taken from journalofastrology.com.

Horoscope of Congress I party

Vimshottari Dasha Horoscope of Congress I

Congress [I] is presently under the influence of Jupiter-Rahu-Venus. The Antardasha Lord, Rahu, in the 7th house is closely conjunct with the Moon (the 5th Lord, mind) , constituting a Rajyoga, as Rahu in Kendra is conjunct with the Trikone Lord (5th Lord, mind ) Moon. However, it creates fear and phobia within the party due to Rahu's nature of illusion. The Moon is the significator of the 4th house, which represents emotions. The Pratyantar Dasha Lord, Venus, is the 8th Lord and 3rd Lord, conjunct with the 6th Lord Sun in the 10th house and aspected by Jupiter, the 10th Lord. Both the 8th Lord Venus and the 6th Lord Sun aspect the 4th house. This fear and phobia within the party are responsible for this decision, as both the Moon,5th house lord[mind] and the 4th house are under severe affliction. Rahu in the 8th house (Surprise) of Navmansha is aspected by Mars. Interestingly, Rahu is transiting in Pisces, the Lagna of Congress I, and Ketu is on the natal Moon and Rahu.

Now, let's examine the chart of Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi, born on January 12, 1972, at 17:05 in Delhi. The chart details are taken from astrodatabank with an AA rating.

Horoscope of Priyanka Gandhi

Vomshottari Dasha of Horoscope of Priyanka Gandhi

Her chart features several Rajyogas, such as the 10th Lord Jupiter conjunct with the Lagna Lord Mercury in the 7th house. Jupiter in the 7th house in its own sign forms the Hamsa Yoga, and the Lagna Lord Mercury aspecting its own sign creates another strong Rajyoga. The Sun-Jupiter-Mercury conjunction indicates that the person is learned, knowledgeable in the shastras and the arts, accumulates wealth, possesses strength, exhibits good conduct, and may experience eye diseases (as per Jatakabhranum). Furthermore, Mercury, Saturn, and Venus in their own houses in D-9 further confirm the strength of these planets.

Currently, she is under the influence of Sun-Sun-Saturn.  Saturn the Pratyanter

Dsha Lord under the sign exchange with Venus. The Sun conjunct with Jupiter forms the Rajlakshan Yoga, favoring direct nomination by the government. The Sun-Moon-Moon period will commence from June 28th, 2024.

During this period, the significance of the Moon, being the 2nd Lord[family] and positioned in the 6th house of competition, becomes apparent. When the Moon is aspected by the 8th and 9th Lord, Saturn, it indicates a time when she is likely to contest in elections. The most probable time frame for her to contest would be during the Sun-Moon-Saturn period, starting from September 13th, 2024 onwards, or the Sun-Moon-Venus period, starting from November 18th, 2024 onwards. This likelihood is reinforced by the sign exchange between Venus, the 12th Lord, and Saturn, the 9th Lord.

In her chart, the Moon is debilitated in the 6th house and aspected by the 9th Lord Saturn. According to Shloka 30, Chapter 40 of the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, it's important to understand that a debilitated planet in the 6th house can be a Rajyogakarka.

Conclusion: Rahu antardasha in the chart of the Congress I party is responsible for such a decision. The current dasha of Priyanka Gandhi (Sun-Sun-Saturn) is forcing her to be the communicator of the party, as the Sun is the 3rd lord. The 3rd house is the house of communication. She may only fight the election in the antardasha of Moon, as the Moon is in the 6th house, the house of competition, and Saturn, the 9th lord (luck), is aspecting.
