The below chart is of one of the greatest
tennis players in 90s and the birth details are reliable as the birth details are taken from astrodatabank with AA rating.
After having the first glace on the chart it was quite difficult to understand that it belongs to one of the greatest tennis player in the history. As usual I started the analysis from various angles to understand the chart and verified the some of the events as dates are available.
She started the serious relationship with Andre Aggasi in June 1999, the V.D [Vimshottari Dasha] running at that time was Jupiter-Saturn-Ketu, Jupiter is the 7th lord with Ketu and anter Dasha lord Saturn in 11H of D-1 with Venus.
Jupiter is in 5H [house of Romance] and Saturn is the 5th lord of D-9. The dasha justifies the event.
Horoscope of Steffi Graf - Details [14 June 1969, 04:40, Mannheim, Germany]

On 13th August 1999 she retired from tennis when her world ranking was in top three. It was a shocker to all her fans but the dasha in astrology has its own twists and turns. She was under Jupiter-Saturn-Venus, Saturn is the 8th lord in debilitation and aspecting the Lagna and Venus the 12L, 12H is the house of retirement. Venus and Saturn both are in 11H and 8th[change] from the mahadasha lord Jupiter.
In D-9 Venus is again the 8th lord and aspecting the Lagna. In Dwadshottari Dasha since Navmansha of Libra , she was under Sun-Moon-Mars, Sun and Moon both are in 12th house[retirement] and Mars aspecting the 12th house. She got married to another tennis star Andre Agassi on October 22, 2001, dasha running at that time was Jupiter-Mercury-Venus, Jupiter is the 7th lord aspecting the Mercury[LL] and Venus signifies the marriage. Anter Dasha Lord Mercury is in 7H of D-9. Both in D-1 and D-9 Venus is aspecting the 5H. She was blessed with a son on October 26th, 2001. Venus is also the 5th Lord of D-7 under the aspect of Mercury and Jupiter.
Now again on the same question why she was one of the greatest tennis players?
3rd Lord Sun in 12th house with Lagna Lord Mercury 2nd Lord Moon aspected by Mars 6th Lord and 11th Lord , Jupiter the 7th Lord and 10th Lord. Amavasya Moon though exalted but a malefic due to proximity of Sun and Mercury also become a malefic due to the conjunction of two malefic.
Sun Moon Mercury are conjunct in 12th house and as per Jatakabhranum, a classic in astrology , it makes the person extremely powerful, remained engaged in doing state government work, skilled in discourse and in the art of using arms and weapons . If we decode this in today’s era arms and weapon for her be the tennis racquet and extremely powerful words showing towards her supreme fitness.
3rd Lord Sun aspected by Jupiter and Mars the best friends of Sun and the results as per Jatakabharnum Sun in Taurus aspected by Mars makes the person shows patience and courage in battle, is extremely strong, gets wealth and fame on the strength of courage and bodily smart . All these traits are matching with her personality.
Apart from this Rahu in 10th house is Rajyogakarka [Chaper 12 , Bhavartha Ratnakar , Shloka 19].
Moreover Rahu in Pisces aspected by the sign lord Jupiter made it very strong. Rahu in Purva Bhadrapada constellation whose lord is Jupiter again aspecting. Rahu in 10th house both in Rashi chart and Navmansha chart. In D-9 Rahu is with Saturn[5th Lord] in 10th house is a very potent Rajyoga.
From Rahu the 3rd house[Self efforts, Velour, Talent ] in Rashi Chart has the influence of five planets [Moon, Mercury, Sun, Mars, Sun]. For a sports person usually 3rd house has some connection with 10th house or10th Lord. The Karka[Significator] for 3rd house is Mars and Mars aspecting the Rashi Lagna, Ghatika Lagna and Hora Lagna constituting a Rajyoga [Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (B.P.H.S), chapter 40, Shloka 12].
Mars in own sign in Rashi chart in 6th house. Jupiter the 10th Lord aspecting the Lagna lord Mercury, Moon and Sun made her mature, satisfied and happy.
She won her first WTA tournament to beat Chris Evert in 1986 in the final of family circle cup in South Carolina , the Vimshottari Dasha running at that time was Rahu-Saturn-Jupiter, Rahu in 10th house and aspected by Jupiter is Rajyogakarka and Saturn in 11th house [gains] conjunct with Venus [5th Lord] hinting towards victory and Jupiter aspecting the 3rd Lord Sun , Moon and Mercury[Lagna Lord] showing her self efforts .

The Rahu dasha was between July 1978 to July 1996 and more than 95% titles she won was during this period and Rahu in 10th house aspected by sign Lord Jupiter, makes it very strong and Rajyogakarka also.
Connection of five planets[ Moon, Mars, Sun, Mars, Jupiter] in 3rd house from Rahu made this dasha very suitable for sports achievements. She won the gold in Seoul Olympics in 1988 [17th September onwards]. The Dasha was Rahu-Mercury-Saturn. Mercury in 3rd house from Rahu with Moon and Sun under the aspect of Mars and Jupiter. In same Olympic she also won the bronze medal in doubles. The year 1988 was exceptional for her as she won all the grand slam titles in Rahu-Mercury –Rahu, Rahu-Mercury-Jupiter and Rahu-Mercury-Saturn.
Conclusion : For the success of a sports person the Dasha pattern is most important as we have to see the planets connected with dasha Lord or 3rd house[Sports] of dasha, strength of Dasha lord and its placement in Rashi and Navmansha Chart along with unique Rajayogas.
In her case Rahu in 10th house in the sign of Jupiter and aspected by Jupiter along with the influence of five planets in 3rd house from Rahu made her exceptional player in this Dasha.
