On January 3, 2026, Nicolás Maduro was captured by U.S. forces during a swift overnight military operation in Caracas, Venezuela. Strikes on key sites began around 2:00 a.m. Caracas local time. Helicopters touched down at Maduro’s compound at approximately 2:01 a.m., resulting in the extraction of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. President Donald Trump announced the capture around 4:21 a.m. USA Eastern Time via Truth Social, describing it as occurring “early on Saturday morning” or “overnight.”

As an astrologer, it is important to uncover the reasons why this happened. With the best of my ability, I have explored the reasons through two powerful charts:

In the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada Chart with Pisces Lagna rising, the Lagna Lord Jupiter is in the 3rd House under sign exchange with Venus the 3rd Lord and 8th Lord (death of ruler, fall of government and calamity). Interestingly, Jupiter is also the 10th Lord (ruler, Head of the State, government) under sign exchange with Venus. Moreover, Venus is closely conjunct with Rahu (crime, war, violence).

In D-9, again the 10th Lord Venus in 8th House (death of ruler, fall of Govt etc) with 6th Lord Mercury (territorial attacks). Also the 8th Lord Sun (calamity, death of ruler) in sign exchange with Mercury the 11th Lord (international relations). Navamsha Lagna Lord Saturn is in 6th House (territorial attacks) with Mars (army, war, violence), strongly hinting towards this incidence.

But I am still not satisfied and applied the Sanghatta Rashi Chakra in the New Year Chart and to my utter surprise, in Sanghatta Rashi Chakra, the Leo sign 6th House (territorial attack) under the Vedha from Sun (6th Lord, attack), Rahu (crime, violence), Moon, Mercury [R] and Venus [R] , the 8th Lord (calamity). Moon is a malefic due to its proximity to the Sun, and Mercury is also a malefic because of its companionship with Moon and Rahu. The fiery sign is under the Vedha from the watery sign except in the same column.

Analysis of Venezuela’s National Chart (Scorpio Lagna)

In the Scorpio Lagna Chart of the nation, the 10th Lord Sun (Ruler of the State) is in the 8th House (death of the ruler, calamity) with the 8th Lord Mercury under the aspect of the dire enemy of Sun, i.e., Saturn (democracy) and Moon, 9th Lord (foreign affairs).

The Chart of the nation is correct as Saturn is aspecting the 8th House, a condition for a crude oil surplus nation, as observed in research in my article published in Express Star Teller 2024 July issue. The Dasha running at present (Mercury-Mercury-Venus from 24th Nov 2025), Mercury is the 8th Lord (death of the ruler) with 10th Lord Sun (President) under the aspect of Mars[6^th Lord ] and Saturn [3^rd Lord and 4^th Lord]. Venus, the Pratyantar Dasha Lord under the aspect of Mars (violence, attack) as 6th Lord (territorial attack), clearly explains the event. In D-9, Mercury is under the aspect of Mars (attack) and Saturn (6th Lord, territorial attack). Sun (President) is afflicted by dire enemy Saturn in Rashi and Navamsha clearly indicating the humiliation to the president.

Post-Event Developments & Future Outlook

Looking into the Chart of the nation, the next timing period (Mercury-Mercury-Sun, starting April 2026) will bring more trouble inside the country, stronger opposition, and greater unrest. Democratic forces will become very active, putting heavy pressure on the government. Saturn (symbol of democracy) and the 9th lord Moon (law, supreme court, International Law) both aspect the Sun (ruler), pointing to judicial orders and legal actions that will add even more pressure on the current leaders. At the same time, Mars—the 6th lord (territorial attack, armed forces)—aspects the 8th house (calamity), the mahadasha lord Mercury, and the 10th lord Sun (head of state), further increasing the chances of sudden crises, military-related tension, and downfall for the leadership.
